You will only ever be as good as you allow yourself to be. That is the thing about art, about drawing, about expressing yourself through a visual media. There is no right and wrong way. Every comment, every critique, every hater or fan you ever have...it's all opinion. Personal opinion, personal preference, and there will literally never be a way to satisfy everyone.
Do what you love, how you love, and when you would love to do it. Practice self love, unapologetically, because one thing that will literally speak through your art is your soul. Don't change your style for someone else. Don't become something you're not for someone else. Practice. Study styles you find appealing. Be you. Be proud. And if someone can't handle that or doesn't want to handle it, there's 8+ billion people in the world...let them go.
But basically, know that always and forever, your art you create will outlast you long after your dead. Don't worry about making it famous, don't worry about making it how someone else thinks you should make it, make it how it makes you happy so people can see you shine through in your work.
After all, art is just a means of obtaining immortality, yeah?
